Mexican striker Santiago Giménez reinforces FC Porto on loan from AC Milan

SAPO Notícias31 August 2026 at 20:15

Mexican striker Santiago Giménez is the new signing for FC Porto, having arrived on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season. The Portuguese club, defending champions, officially announced the operation today, which represents a significant reinforcement for the Porto attack during the second half of the season.

The deal between the two clubs includes a purchase option set at 18 million euros. This means that, should FC Porto wish to keep Giménez permanently after the loan period, they may do so for the established amount, subject to agreement between the parties.

Santiago Giménez, 23 years old, arrives at the Dragão with international experience, having represented Mexico at the 2024 Copa América. The striker developed most of his career in Mexico, where he stood out as one of the young promises of Mexican football, before moving to AC Milan.

With this signing, FC Porto strengthens its attacking options at a crucial point in the season, now having more choices in the forward line to face the challenges that remain in domestic and European competitions.
