The Socialist Party requested that parliament urgently hear the minister of the Presidency, Manuel Castro Almeida, about the actual execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The socialists want to know exactly how much still needs to be executed and paid under the programme.
The PS argues that the formal conclusion of the plan, announced by the minister, does not necessarily correspond to the conclusion of investments on the ground. That is, there is a difference between what was formally closed and what is effectively realized.
This position follows the criticisms of the Court of Auditors, which has been warning about significant delays in the execution of various components of the PRR. The party considers it fundamental to clarify the current state of pending funds and projects still to be realized.
The urgent hearing request is part of a PS strategy to pressure the Government to account for the commitments assumed before Brussels and taxpayers. The socialists want guarantees that delayed payments will be realized.
