At the 2026 Mediterranean Games held in Taranto, Auriol Dongmo was crowned champion of the shot put with a new competition record. The athlete achieved a distance of 19.42 meters, overcoming all her opponents in the final of the event.
Jéssica Inchude finished the competition in second place, securing the Portuguese one-two on the podium. The athlete recorded a throw of 18.86 meters, finishing just 56 centimeters behind her teammate.
The result represents a significant achievement for the Portuguese delegation, which managed to occupy the top two positions in the same event in the throwing program. Both athletes demonstrated great technical consistency throughout the competition.
