Metropolitano de Lisboa has updated the schedule for the rehabilitation works at Praça de Espanha station, on the Blue Line. The transport operator predicts the reopening of the Santa Apolónia direction platform on September 3rd, the same date when works begin on the opposite platform, which will remain closed until September 28th.
The Santa Apolónia direction platform, closed since August 10th, will return to normal operation on September 3rd. On that same day, works begin on the opposite platform, which will remain closed until September 28th, during which time trains will not run on that platform.
Regarding access, North Lobby reopened on August 17th with new operational elevators. South Lobby will undergo flooring improvement works between September 14th and October 12th, remaining completely closed to the public during that period.
The company recommends that passengers alternatively use the neighboring stations of Jardim Zoológico or São Sebastião, or transfer at the next station via the available platform. The intervention aims to improve the conservation conditions, safety and accessibility of the infrastructure, covering the renovation of the flooring in the lobbies and platforms.
