An Airbus A320-200 aircraft, registration PR-MYO, operated by LATAM Airlines Brasil, performing flight LA3858 between Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo and Adalberto Mendes da Silva Airport in Cascavel, Paraná State, went off the runway immediately after landing. The incident occurred at 09:55 on Monday, August 31.
The runway at the regional airport in Paraná is approximately 1,700 meters long and it was raining heavily at the time the aircraft touched down. There were 151 people on board, comprising 145 passengers and six crew. There are no reports of injuries.
After leaving the runway, the aircraft came to a stop in a grass and dirt area next to the runway, becoming stuck in the mud. LATAM Airlines Brasil has already issued a statement saying it will provide all necessary assistance to the customers and staff affected by the incident.
