A ferry sank this Sunday off Kyrenia, in the north of Cyprus. The boat was carrying passengers when it went down, causing a tragedy with at least eight dead and 18 people missing.
Serkan Kunduraci was one of the passengers on board the ferry. The man managed to survive the sinking and recounts the moments of panic that occurred during the accident.
According to the survivor, some people who didn't know how to swim ended up dying at sea. The panic that broke out during the sinking is believed to have contributed to the severity of the situation.
The search and rescue operations continue to take place to find the 18 missing people, while authorities investigate the causes of the accident.
