Artificial intelligence has become part of the vehicle purchasing journey in Brazil. According to a Google survey presented at the Anfavea Visions 2026 event, 57% of consumers use AI tools throughout the vehicle selection process, and 13% go so far as to delegate part of their decisions to the technology. The survey was conducted with consumers across the country.
The research indicates that AI is used to organize information, compare alternatives, and deepen analyses before the final decision. The tools allow gathering characteristics of different automobiles, comparing versions, and systematizing information about fuel consumption, maintenance, insurance, equipment, and technologies.
The adoption of these tools does not necessarily reduce the time of the purchasing journey. On the contrary, by making a larger volume of data available, AI can expand the research phase, leading consumers to evaluate more options before completing the purchase. In this way, the buyer arrives at the subsequent stages of the negotiation better informed.
