Brazil has launched an operation against players and sports agents suspected of belonging to a drug and arms trafficking network. Authorities are investigating several individuals involved in the football world.

Vasco da Gama is one of the clubs mentioned in the case. The team is scheduled to play in the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana next week, facing Independiente Santa Fe from Bogotá.

The club has yet to comment on the searches carried out at its training center, or on the alleged involvement of one of its players in the network being investigated by the authorities.
