The State Budget for 2026 (OE2026) forecasts a Social Security surplus of 4,415.8 million euros, representing a positive value for Social Security accounts.

Effective Social Security expenditure stood at 23,216.8 million euros, a value that reflects the planned spending under this budget.

This figure compares with the 22,244.8 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year, indicating an increase in expenditure of approximately 972 million euros compared to the previous year.
