The 16th edition of "Opera in the Garden" takes place on September 11th at 9:30 PM, at the Jardim dos Charcos in Almeirim. This year, the event dedicated to lyric music has changed spaces and will take place in the new indicated location, with free admission for the public.
The event features seven singers and a pianist. The cast is composed of sopranos Hélia Castro, Patrícia Modesto and Taiana Froes, mezzo-soprano Cátia Moreso, tenor Bruno Almeida and baritones Christian Luján and Armando Calado. The musical component will be accompanied on piano by Francisco Sassetti.
The program covers works by some of the main opera composers, including Donizetti, Bellini, Verdi, Mozart, Franz Lehár, Puccini and Rossini. Among the expected highlights are excerpts from "Lucia di Lammermoor", "I Puritani", "La Sonnambula", "La Bohème", "The Magic Flute", "Don Pasquale", "La Traviata", "Viva allegre" and "Un ballo in maschera", among other works.
