Polish fighters intercepted a Russian spy plane over the Baltic Sea for the third time in August. Poland has carried out several interception missions during this period, demonstrating constant surveillance of airspace in the region.
On August 3rd, two Polish F-16 fighters intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft in the same area, 60 kilometers from Łeba, a city in northern Poland.
On August 4th, Polish air forces intercepted another Russian aircraft 56 kilometers from Koszalin, also in the north of the country, continuing the series of interceptions during this month.
These interceptions are part of a broader pattern of tension in the Baltic region, where Russian aircraft are frequently monitored and intercepted by NATO member countries, including Poland.
