The community of Samora Correia bid farewell to Father Heliodoro, who is leaving the parish after 14 years of connection to the municipality of Benavente. For almost a decade and a half, the priest accompanied the local community, performing celebrations, sacraments, and other pastoral activities that marked the religious life of the region.
Father Heliodoro will now take on new roles in the Archdiocese of Évora. The priest was appointed Pro-Vicar-General, a position of high responsibility within the administrative and pastoral structure of the diocese. This appointment represents recognition of his work and dedication over the years.
In addition to this role, Father Heliodoro will also serve as Vice-Rector of the Major Seminary of Évora. In this position, he will have responsibilities in the formation of future priests of the archdiocese, contributing to the preparation of new religious vocations.
With this change, a cycle of 14 years in the community of Samora Correia and Benavente comes to an end, beginning a new stage in Father Heliodoro's pastoral journey, now serving the Archdiocese of Évora.
