The European Union placed ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox under the stricter rules provided for in the Digital Services Act. This decision was made by European authorities in Brussels and represents a significant tightening of supervision over these technology platforms.
The affected companies now have a four-month deadline to assess and reduce the risks associated with their services. This period is intended to allow platforms to implement the necessary measures to comply with the new European requirements.
Non-compliance with the new rules can result in substantial fines. Companies that do not follow Brussels' guidelines risk fines equivalent to up to 6% of their global annual revenues, which can represent very substantial amounts for these major tech companies.
