Cathedral and Market of Santarém represent the municipality in the national semi-final of the 7 Wonders of Popular Culture

The Cathedral of Santarém and the Municipal Market of Santarém will represent the municipality in the national semi-final of the 7 Wonders of Popular Culture. The two applications were distinguished as semi-finalists in the Religion and 20th Century categories, respectively.

The semi-final event takes place on September 5th, at the Vila Palace, in Sintra. The two monumental candidates from Santarém are now seeking to secure a place in the national final.

The passage to the next stage will be decided through public voting. The representatives of Santarém will thus compete with other monuments from across the country in both categories.
