A 43-year-old Swiss man was arrested on Monday (31st) under "strong suspicion" of being responsible for the shooting attack during a rave party in Aarau, Switzerland. The arrest occurred shortly before 1 a.m. in the morning. The 22-year-old Italian young woman died at the scene, despite resuscitation attempts, and five people were injured.
The shots were fired during an electronic music party held at the Aarau racecourse, in the canton of Aargau. Police said that, so far, investigations indicate that only one perpetrator participated in the attack.
The Aargau cantonal police issued a statement saying that investigations are ongoing to clarify the sequence of events, the context and the possible motive for the crime. Investigators continue working to reconstruct the facts.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had reported on Sunday about the incident involving the Italian young woman who was a victim of the attack.
