Vila Nova responded after athlete Hayner, loaned by Santos, was targeted in a Civil Police operation against a criminal organization operating across state lines on this Monday. The operation executed a search warrant at the player's home and at Vila do Tigre's Training Center, exclusively in his personal locker.
According to the Goian club's statement, the athlete claims to have no involvement in illicit activities. Hayner believes he was included among the targets of the judicial measure due to a childhood friendship with one of those investigated.
Hayner's friendship is with one of those investigated for drug trafficking, who is from the same community where the player grew up, in Espírito Santo. The location is also related to other athletes who were targeted in the operation.
