The Baltic states are moving away from Russia, but Russia is not moving away from the Baltic states. This was the assessment made by geopolitics specialist Maria João Tomás, who warned about the asymmetric dynamic between the two sides.
The specialist warned that Moscow may resort to arguments of Russophilia and Russian-speaking populations to justify possible territorial destabilization in the Baltic countries, similar to what happened in the case of Ukraine.
This analysis comes in the context of geopolitical tensions between Russia and the Baltic countries, which have been strengthening their ties with the West and moving away from the Russian sphere of influence.
