The Liberal Initiative considered it unacceptable that the Regional Government has not yet fulfilled the promise to build an access to the fast lane near the Sports Park of Água de Pena, in the municipality of Machico. The liberals highlighted that this infrastructure is fundamental to improve mobility conditions in the region.
The party recalled that it has been warning about this need for more than two years, without the regional executive taking concrete measures to move forward with the work. This situation arises in a context where the promise was made publicly by the Government, but was never fulfilled.
The construction of this access aims to facilitate road circulation in an area that, according to IL, needs better mobility conditions. The Sports Park of Água de Pena is a relevant facility for the local community, whose accessibility has been compromised by the absence of this road infrastructure.
