Rapper Major RD prepares for a historic presentation at Rock in Rio, at the Favela Space, closing the space's activities on Saturday, September 5th. This will be the fourth time the artist performs at the festival, but the first with an unprecedented solo show at the Favela Space. In previous editions, he participated as the second voice of Xamã on two occasions and then performed solo on the Supernova stage.
Major RD is from Vilar Carioca, in Inhoaíba, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and reports that being at Rock in Rio was always a childhood dream. He says he used to watch the festival on television, since his father was a rock fan, and that he never imagined being on the festival's stages, let alone multiple times.
The artist highlights that the responsibility of occupying the Favela Space with his show is enormous. He mentions that he watched the greatest rock, rap, and pop singers perform at the festival when he was a child, and that achieving this space represents an immense personal fulfillment. According to him, the butterflies in his stomach are intense, and the reality of it all still hasn't fully sunk in.
