OpenAI, the company responsible for ChatGPT, will have to comply with the European Union's rules for digital services. This obligation arises within the scope of the new European legislation that regulates digital platforms and online services.

The risks associated with the use of ChatGPT will have to be evaluated in detail by the company. This risk assessment is one of the main requirements imposed by European regulation on operators of large digital platforms.

Supervision of compliance with these rules will be shared between the European Commission and the Digital Services Coordinators of the member states. This joint supervision structure aims to ensure consistent application of the rules throughout the European Union territory.
