Europa: Natural gas price exceeds €70 for the first time since January 2023

Euronews Portugal31 August 2026 at 13:47

The Dutch TTF natural gas reference price rose on Monday above 70 euros per megawatt-hour, reaching the highest since January 2023.

This increase in energy prices in Europe is related to the new fighting between the United States and Iran, which have raised oil prices.

Geopolitical tension in the Middle East also increases the risk of delays in liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the Persian Gulf.

The context for this increase comes after a period of lower prices, representing a significant reversal in the European energy market.

This line was agreed during the visit of Mozambican President Daniel Chapo to Portugal in July, and the first disbursements should happen in the second semester. The projects to finance have already been submitted, and teams from both countries are working on final approval. Chapo described bilateral relations as "excellent" and mentioned that the need to increase the allocation will be assessed if the program is successful.

7PEGG Seal recognizes collaborative practices at work

The update to Regulatory Standard 1 (NR-1), published in May 2026, included psychosocial risk factors in the Occupational Risk Management, expanding the responsibility of Brazilian organizations regarding mental health and work relationships. In this context, the 7PEGG Pró-Social Seal certification emerges, created by the EGG platform, which evaluates companies and institutions according to seven principles — kindness, generosity, solidarity, sustainability, diversity, respect, and citizenship — through a 43-question questionnaire that measures perception and specific categories of coexistence in the workplace, such as individual attitude, perception of others, leadership, and corporate conduct, aiming to recognize and encourage collaborative practices that impact productivity and quality of life.
