The National Social Security Institute (INSS) published Normative Instruction No. 213 in the Official Gazette of the Union, releasing the contracting of payroll loans for retirees and pensionists who do not have facial biometrics registered in federal government databases. The measure allows this group to authorize credit operations with direct discount on the benefit payment slip.
Under the new rule, these beneficiaries may authorize the operation through the Meu INSS app using Gov.br login and providing the account holder's bank account data. The authorization waives facial biometric registration, which had been required in a previous normative instruction.
The change reverses a requirement established in May of this year, which had conditioned the release of payroll credit to authorization by the benefit holder on Meu INSS exclusively through facial biometrics. The new normative instruction was signed by the president of INSS, Ana Cristina Viana Silveira.
