A 72-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police for sexual abuse of a person incapable of resistance. The crime occurred at a nursing home in the municipality of Arouca, where both the suspect and the victim are residents of the private social solidarity institution.
The victim is an 80-year-old woman who was found by the suspect inside her bedroom, where he was committing significant sexual acts. The elderly woman presents great vulnerability due to her health condition.
The woman is completely dependent on the institution's staff and has speech impairment and reduced mobility, which makes her unable to resist any aggression. Due to these limitations, the victim had no means of defense or of asking for help.
The arrested man will be presented for first judicial interrogation at the São João da Madeira Court for the application of appropriate precautionary measures to the case.
