A Spanish tourist around 60 years old died this Monday morning in a fire in a hotel in the city of Fatima. The fire forced the removal of 53 people from the hotel unit, who were evacuated safely during the early morning.
Another Spanish tourist, who witnessed the incident, was visibly moved as she described what she witnessed. Unable to contain her emotion, she said she has no words to describe the moment of the fire.
Local authorities were activated to respond to the incident and carry out the necessary investigations to determine the causes of the fire. The authorities did not want to identify the fatal victim until the family was notified.
