The first secretary of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, considered that the Executive is "almost halfway" for the Socialist Party to be able to analyze the State Budget for 2027. The prime minister's statements about pensions were identified as representing that "halfway" point in the budgetary dialogue process.
PS maintains four conditions to initiate dialogue on the State Budget. Two of these conditions have already received a response from the Government, according to José Luís Carneiro.
However, the Socialist Party is not yet in a position to move forward with the analysis of the document. The party indicates that it needs to "wait" for the remaining conditions that have not yet been responded to by the Executive.
This position emerges during negotiations between PS and the Government, following the Executive's recent legislative initiatives in the pensions area. José Luís Carneiro acknowledges progress, but maintains caution before formally examining the 2027 Budget.
