Alentejo leads growth in overnight stays and tourism revenue in July

Alentejo was the Portuguese region with the highest growth in overnight stays in tourist accommodation establishments in July, registering an increase of 7.7% compared to the same month in 2025. According to information provided by the National Statistics Institute (INE) to the newspaper ODigital.pt, the region's tourist accommodation recorded 466.9 thousand overnight stays.

This growth positions Alentejo as the leading region in the national tourism sector during this period, surpassing other regions of the country in terms of percentage evolution.

INE data reveal that the Alentejo region managed to attract more tourists and guests during the month of July, resulting in a significant increase in tourism activity in the region.

This positive performance of Alentejo in the tourist accommodation sector occurs in a context where Portugal in general has been registering high levels of tourism demand, with the Alentejo region standing out for its accelerated growth.
