The Territorial Command of Santarém of the National Republican Guard detained 35 people and recorded 114 road accidents during operations carried out between 24 and 30 August. The enforcement actions essentially aimed at traffic control and the prevention of risky behaviours on the roads of the district.
Among the detentions made, 17 were related to driving under the influence of alcohol and nine to driving without a legal license. These violations represent the main causes of accidents identified during the operation period.
The GNR continues to develop enforcement operations in the district of Santarém, with the aim of guaranteeing road safety and deterring illegal practices by drivers.
