70-year-old man identified for counterfeiting at the weekly market in Melgaço

A 70-year-old man was identified on Friday, August 28, for suspicion of counterfeiting, during an inspection operation carried out at the weekly market in Melgaço. The operation was carried out by the Melgaço Territorial Post of the GNR, following a complaint received by the authorities.

During the inspection, the soldiers detected several counterfeit clothing items, of a registered and recognized brand in the market, which were on display for sale to the public. During the action, 118 items were seized, with an estimated value of 1,770 euros.

The facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Melgaço, continuing the legal process related to this counterfeiting case. The operation had the participation of GNR elements from the Melgaço Territorial Post.
