Benfica says no to Al Ittihad for Barreiro

Dia de Jogo — jornal desportivo31 August 2026 at 11:53

Al Ittihad, a club from Saudi Arabia, made an offer for midfielder Leandro Barreiro, a Benfica player. The red-and-white club responded with a refusal to the Saudis' approach.

The proposed amount is said to have been around 15 million euros, although this figure has not been officially confirmed by either party.

Benfica thus shows it is not willing to negotiate the player this winter, keeping Barreiro in their plans for the season. The midfielder remains linked to the reds, who intend to hold onto the player at the Estádio da Luz.
