An accident occurred on the A24 that resulted in two seriously injured people. According to the commander of the Peso da Régua fire department, Rui Lopes, one of the victims suffered cardiorespiratory arrest and the other has multiple fractures.
The two injured people are a 65-year-old man and a woman of approximately 60 years, with both being transported to the hospital in Vila Real.
Traffic was restricted on one lane in the south-north direction, but the road is now fully open to traffic.
The alert for the accident was given at 9:08 am and firefighters from Peso da Régua, an INEM team and the GNR were dispatched to the scene, which is investigating the causes of the accident.
