Striker David Corrêa, known as DVD, from Vasco da Gama, was the target of search and seizure warrants this Monday, in Rio de Janeiro, as part of an investigation conducted by the Civil Police of Espírito Santo into interstate drug and arms trafficking. The searches took place at the player's home, in Barra da Tijuca, and at the club's training center, in Jacarepaguá.
David Corrêa is a striker for Vasco da Gama and is part of the club's professional squad, playing in the offensive sector. The player went to the training center in his own car to observe the police action. Upon leaving, DVD refused to comment on the investigation.
The operation investigates a criminal organization suspected of operating in different states. According to the Civil Police of Espírito Santo, the investigations also check for possible connections of other professional players with the investigated group.
