Taxpayers in Portugal have until this Monday to proceed with the payment of the 2025 income tax to the Tax Authority. This date represents the final deadline for complying with this tax obligation by taxpayers.
The Tax Authority itself also has until the same day to complete income tax refunds without the application of interest. This means that taxpayers who are entitled to receive money from the State should wait until this Monday to receive the full amounts without penalties.
There is, however, a relevant exception for cases where the amount owed to the State is less than 25 euros. In this situation, the Tax Authority does not require payment of that amount, and it is not necessary for taxpayers to proceed with the payment of amounts considered too small.
