Fernando Soares debuts Opel Corsa Rally4

Açoriano Oriental31 August 2026 at 11:28

Driver Fernando Soares will debut an Opel Corsa Rally4 at the 59th Volta à Ilha de São Miguel by Azores Rallye. This is a new vehicle for the driver, replacing the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 he previously used.

The Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 was involved in a spectacular crash last July, during the XVI Rali da Graciosa. The accident was serious enough to warrant a vehicle change by Fernando Soares.

The debut of the new Opel Corsa Rally4 thus takes place in the context of the Azorean competition, more specifically at the Volta à Ilha de São Miguel, one of the events on the Azores Rallye calendar. The driver thus seeks to recover competitiveness after the incident that destroyed his previous rally car.
