The General Council of Nursing calls for banning the sale and consumption of energy drinks to minors throughout Spain

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General31 August 2026 at 11:09

The General Council of Nursing (CGE) called for the prohibition of the sale and consumption of energy drinks to minors throughout Spain. This request arises as a measure to protect the health of young Spaniards.

The ban has already begun to be applied in some Spanish territories, such as Galicia and the Balearic Islands, where there are specific regulations on the matter.

In addition to the ban, the CGE also advocated for the need to improve information campaigns so that the population understands the risks that these drinks pose to health.
