The Portuguese economy grew 0.8%, on a quarterly basis, in the second quarter of this year, according to data confirmed by the National Statistics Institute (INE). This confirmation comes after a quick estimate published in July by the same body.
The quick estimate already indicated an acceleration of growth in the year-on-year comparison, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) advancing 2.5%. This year-on-year growth has now been confirmed.
After having practically stagnated at the start of the year, the Portuguese economy thus demonstrated a recovery in the second quarter, registering both quarterly and annual growth.
