Municipal Force Debuts in Rio's September 7th Parade

The Municipal Force, Elite Division of the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard, will make its debut at the traditional September 7th parade this year. The event celebrates Brazil's Independence Day and is an annual military and police forces parade held in the city.

The personnel and vehicles of the Municipal Force joined those of the Municipal Guard, which has been participating in the event traditionally. This is a novelty for the public that follows the parade.

Presidente Vargas Avenue, the location that hosts the parade every year, is the region with the highest number of arrests and detentions for robberies and thefts carried out by the Municipal Force.
