Fuel weighs on TAP's accounts: losses rise to 99.2 million in the first half

SOL31 August 2026 at 09:13

TAP ended the first six months of the year with a loss of 99.2 million euros, a figure higher than the approximately 70 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

The rise in fuel costs was the main factor that pressured the Portuguese airline's accounts, contributing significantly to the worsening of the negative result.

Despite the poor financial performance, TAP managed to grow in revenues and reached a record number of passengers carried during the period under analysis.

The contrast between operational growth and the worsening loss highlights the significant impact of rising fuel prices on the company's profitability.
