A passenger was arrested at Lisbon airport carrying more than 20 kilos of synthetic drugs hidden inside kitchen utensils. The quantity of drugs represents one of the largest volumes seized recently in this type of smuggling.
The kitchen objects were subjected to X-Ray examination during airport security controls. The images revealed the presence of organic material inside the utensils, which raised suspicions from the authorities.
The subsequent laboratory analysis confirmed that the material found was synthetic drugs. The passenger was arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities for the appropriate legal procedures.
