Madeira Beekeepers Must Declare Stocks by September 30

Beekeepers with registered activity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira must proceed with the Annual Stock Declaration between September 1 and 30, 2026. This declaration is mandatory and must be made within this period.

The information was provided by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries, through the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development, responsible for regulating beekeeping activity in the region.

Beekeepers can make the declaration through in-person service at the Division of Experimentation and Agronomic Improvement, located in São Martinho, at Quebradas de Baixo, number 63. Alternatively, it is possible to do so by telephone through the number 291 145 458.

Owners with IMI above 500 euros have until today to pay second installment

Property owners in Portugal with annual IMI exceeding 500 euros have until Monday, August 31st, to pay the second installment of the Municipal Property Tax to the Tax Authority. Payment is split into installments depending on the amount: up to 100 euros in May; between 100 and 500 euros in two installments (May and November); above 500 euros in three installments (May, August and November). IMI applies to the taxable patrimonial value, with a rate of 0.8% for rustic properties and between 0.3% and 0.45% for urban properties, with rates set by municipalities. Vacant properties for more than one year in urban pressure zones have the rate increased tenfold, with an additional 20% for each subsequent year. Families with children under 25 can benefit from reductions of 30 euros (one child), 70 euros (two children) or 140 euros (three or more), automatically applied by the tax authority.
