An inmate managed to escape from pre-trial detention in Duisburg, Germany, this Sunday, using a method described as movie-worthy: he cut the bars and fled through the roof of the prison facility.
The escape occurred a few days after another breakout that drew attention nationwide: that of the notorious con man Hendrik Holt, who also managed to escape recently.
The incident raises questions about the security of German prison facilities, especially considering that two high-profile escapes occurred in a short span of time.
German authorities did not disclose the identity of the inmate who escaped from Duisburg, nor did they provide additional details about how exactly the escape was planned and executed.
