In the hands of remote-controlled robots: robotic surgeries gain scale in private hospitals and SUS network

Robotic surgeries are gaining scale in private hospitals and the public SUS network, allowing increasingly precise procedures and faster recoveries for patients. Robotic technology has been used in various medical specialties, expanding treatment possibilities.

An emblematic example is the case of American surfer Kelly Slater, at 54 years old and retired, who underwent hip prosthesis placement nine months before facing Brazilian Gabriel Medina in Tahiti. The robotic surgery allowed him to walk just hours after the operation.

Slater recovered mobility in just 15 days after the robotic procedure. In less than a year since the surgery, the legendary surfer was able to return to the waves of French Polynesia, competing again at the high level that made him famous as an 11-time world champion.

R$ 1 trillion in public procurement boosts AI adoption

The Brazilian public procurement market reached R$ 1 trillion in approved values on the National Public Procurement Portal (PNCP) in 2025, with over 1 million purchases made. Micro and small businesses accounted for 481.7 thousand purchases (R$ 272.6 billion) and individual microentrepreneurs for 62.22 thousand purchases (R$ 12.08 billion). The scale of this market has been driving demand for artificial intelligence and predictive analytics technologies to organize public databases and analyze contracts, suppliers, and procurement patterns. Grand View Research projects the global predictive analytics market to grow from US$ 18.9 billion in 2024 to US$ 82.3 billion in 2030, with an average annual rate of 28.3%.
