The soap opera "A viagem", from Rede Globo, is about to be released as a film and marked both viewers and the professionals involved during its broadcast. The production is remembered not only for its great success but also for the unusual behind-the-scenes moments during filming, related to the strong spiritualist theme of the story.
Solange Castro Neves, who collaborated with Ivani Ribeiro on the 1994 remake, recalled one of the most striking behind-the-scenes episodes. According to her, when they started working on the soap opera, all the important dialogues from Dr. Alberto about spirituality, which were supervised by Dr. Herculano Pires, had been lost.
Days later, Ivani Ribeiro received a psychographed message from Chico Xavier. In the letter, the medium said the soap opera would be a success and that Ivani could trust Solange as her collaborator. The most surprising part was that the message also stated that Solange had been Ivani's daughter in another life and contained details about the friendship between the two that only they could know.
Besides the receipt of the letter, there are several reports from cast members who felt spiritual presences during the production, something common in works with spiritualist themes such as "A viagem".
