Pharmacies in several regions of the country are being constantly targeted by robbers seeking specifically weight-loss pens, such as medications based on semaglutide. The problem has become so frequent that in some units, four robberies were recorded in just ten days, creating an atmosphere of terror among employees.
Attendants and pharmacists are suffering serious consequences for their mental health due to the violence of the attacks. Many professionals had to take time off work due to illness related to stress and trauma caused by threats and robberies.
The criminals know that these medications have high value on the parallel market, which makes pharmacies attractive targets. The situation has led pharmacy owners to adopt extreme security measures to try to protect their employees and stocks.
