Tesla's FSD Almost Caused a Tragedy Against an Ongoing Train

SAPO Notícias31 August 2026 at 08:00

Tesla's autonomous driving system was once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. A vehicle equipped with the latest version of the driving assistance software failed to recognize an ongoing train, almost causing a tragedy.

The incident once again exposes the limitations of Tesla's FSD (Full Self-Driving) system, which despite being marketed as an advanced autonomous driving technology, continues to require constant supervision from the driver.

This is not the first case of malfunction of Tesla's system, which has been the subject of multiple investigations by regulatory authorities in the United States due to accidents involving the autopilot and FSD systems.

The situation raises questions about the safety and reliability of autonomous driving systems currently available on the market, as well as about the appropriateness of their implementation on public roads without adequate supervision.
