Over 700 people were arrested for drug trafficking in central Lisbon since 2024. This number reveals the scale of the work carried out by the PSP in combating drug trafficking in the Portuguese capital.
The PSP is present on the streets of the capital 24 hours a day to combat this phenomenon, although the work of police officers often goes unnoticed by the population. Security forces continue to develop regular operations in this area.
The newspaper Diário de Notícias followed one of these PSP operations at various points in the central area of Lisbon. This follow-up allowed revealing how these inspection and anti-drug trafficking actions take place in the city.
