The Portuguese stock exchange started the last session of August in the green, boosted by the positive performance of the main listed companies. Markets reacted favorably to the trading conditions that marked the beginning of this trading day.

The heavyweights Galp and BCP were the main drivers behind sustaining the positive sentiment on the Portuguese index. These two companies, among the most relevant in the PSI 20, led the gains and contributed significantly to the upward trend observed.

The bank led by Miguel Maya stood out by renewing 11-year highs. This milestone represents a signal of strength for the national financial sector and reflects investors' confidence in the institution's trajectory.

Exiting a franchise should be evaluated before signing

The Brazilian franchise market exceeded R$ 300 billion in annual revenue for the first time, reaching R$ 301.7 billion in 2025, with nominal growth of 10.5% compared to the previous year. The country ended the period with 202,444 operations, 3,297 networks, and approximately 1.762 million direct jobs. The sector's growth reinforces the need to analyze what happens not only during opening and operation, but at the moment of renewing, selling, transferring, or closing a unit. Data from the Brazilian Franchising Association shows that 4% of operations were transferred during the year, while 7.4% were closed. The Franchise Law establishes that the candidate must receive the Franchise Offering Circular (COF) at least ten days before signing the contract.
