From mechanic to restaurant, couple creates platform to help Brazilians in Portugal

Público31 August 2026 at 07:30

Ana Paula and Alessandro Pereira are a Brazilian couple living in Portugal who decided to create LinkBR, a platform that seeks to connect clients with Brazilian entrepreneurs in the European country. The idea arose from the couple's own experience, as they migrated from Brazil and faced difficulties establishing themselves professionally.

Before founding the platform, the couple worked in various areas, including mechanics and restaurants, which gave them insight into the challenges faced by Brazilians seeking opportunities in Portugal. This experience motivated the creation of a business that could help other compatriots.

LinkBR already has more than 60 registered partners, including service providers and commercial establishments. The main goal of the platform is to facilitate the meeting between clients and Brazilian entrepreneurs, making it easier to build a network of contacts and business within the community.

In addition to targeting Brazilians living in Portugal, the platform also aims to reach the Portuguese. The couple believes there is room for Brazilians and Portuguese to establish commercial and professional relationships, thereby expanding LinkBR's reach in the local market.

Exiting a franchise should be evaluated before signing

The Brazilian franchise market exceeded R$ 300 billion in annual revenue for the first time, reaching R$ 301.7 billion in 2025, with nominal growth of 10.5% compared to the previous year. The country ended the period with 202,444 operations, 3,297 networks, and approximately 1.762 million direct jobs. The Franchise Law establishes that the candidate must receive the Franchise Offering Circular (COF) at least ten days before signing the contract.
