Alert ends in Almada after weeks of water supply failures

The alert situation that had been in effect in Almada since July was lifted today, after weeks of water supply failures that affected the municipality's population. The decision was made possible thanks to the recovery of water reserve levels.

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Services (SMAS) of Almada managed to keep reserves above 70%, which allowed the alert period that had been decreed during the month of July due to water scarcity to end.

Costa da Caparica was one of the areas most affected during this period of supply difficulties. The water distribution problems caused significant inconvenience to residents of that coastal area of the municipality.

With the end of the alert, the situation in the municipality of Almada returns to normal, after a summer marked by restrictions and failures in the supply of drinking water to the population.
