A school principal in Nepal managed to evacuate 900 children from a school moments before a deadly wall of water hit the area. Rajendra Dawadi, principal of the Tribhuvan Trishuli secondary school in Nuwakot, decided to stop classes and send students to higher ground after receiving warnings about the size of the flood heading toward the area.

The evacuation operation took only about 10 minutes, with a very tight margin before the flood arrived. Students were instructed to move to higher ground after warnings came from upstream about the approaching water.

The flash floods that hit Nepal are devastating and have already caused almost 800 deaths. Additionally, thousands of people remain missing following these floods that affected various areas of the country.
