Number of travel agencies almost tripled in 10 years in Madeira

dnoticias.pt31 August 2026 at 07:00

The travel agencies sector in Madeira recorded impressive growth over the last ten years, almost tripling the number of active companies in the region. This recovery was particularly notable after a slight contraction observed during the pandemic year, when the sector faced significant difficulties.

The data supporting this analysis was released by the Regional Directorate of Tourism, responsible for monitoring and tracking sector indicators in the region. The topic received prominent coverage on the front page of Monday's print edition of the newspaper DIÁRIO, which dedicated several pages to the subject.

In addition to the growth in the number of agencies, DIÁRIO covers other tourism-related indicators in Madeira, seeking to provide a comprehensive view of the current state of the sector in the region.

The Madeira Promotion Association also announced that it will use humor from producer 4Litro as a strategy to reinforce the region's hospitality, seeking a lighter and more attractive approach in promoting the destination.
